KLM Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Pop-Up Concert at JFK Airport’s Terminal 4

Back to Newsroom

JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, partnered with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to celebrate the airline’s 100th anniversary with a day of festivities in Terminal 4.

On Monday, KLM held a festive day of music at T4, including live performances by Netherlands-based Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra to mark this monumental milestone and thank customers for their help in achieving 100 years of continued service under the original name. Travelers checking in had the opportunity to take photos with KLM banners and tulip decorations. Within the terminal, the Orchestra performed a five-piece selection during a 30-minute set in the Retail Lounge before serenading passengers who were boarding KLM flights. The waiting areas for KL642 and KL636 flights were decorated with KLM100 branded garlands, flags, tablecloths, delft blue vases with tulips on the counters and KLM banners. Passengers were also treated to cake and drinks.

T4 is a work of art. Really! You’ll find our private collection of world-class paintings, sculptures, and mobiles on display throughout the terminal.

Be Travel-Ready: Plan for a Stress-Free Trip to T4!

Due to construction at JFK, the roadways leading to Terminal 4 may be congested. We highly recommend that our guests allow themselves some extra time to reach the terminal and, whenever possible, use public transportation within the subway system through Howard Beach or LIRR at Jamaica, then use AirTrain JFK.

From there, your ride will be 10 or 15 minutes to the terminal.

Taxis and shared rides from T4 will operate from the Remote Ride App & Car Services Lot, accessible via a free shuttle bus in front of the Arrivals Hall running every 1-2 minutes. Please avoid going with anyone you have not pre-arranged a ride with.
